Fantasea Super Tri-Cup Camera Suction Mount

This is a heavy duty and well made flexible use suction clamp mount designed for use with any camera or lighting product from DSLR sized and downward. Priced at just £12.95 it comes with both GoPro style and 1/4" standard ball and socket mounts which can also be used with any regular tripod head.
The product was supplied in a large blister pack containing the main suction mount assembly together with the GoPro and Ball and Socket heads and two screws needed to secure the heads to the suction mount base. No User Guide is included other than the very basic instructions given on the pack base. A better presentation would give the product a more upmarket appeal and might help with sales although of necessity driving the price up.
The mount assembly is made of plastic but seems robust and well made. It has three large suction mount which can each be rotated and locked vertically and come with suction snap-locks. The central panel has a screw opening g and circular shaped mount to locate the selected camera mount. The two supplied camera mounts are both robustly made of metal and are secured in place using one of the two steel screws through the underside of the central panel. Once in place, the camera can be further adjusted on the camera mount itself. The mount is designed for use with any camera from DSLR downwards but I would doubt it is strong enough to support a pro level DSLR and lens through any very vigorous activity. For a GoPro style device, I would not anticipate any issues if it is correctly mounted.
To mount the device ensure that the mounting surface is well cleaned and sprayed with water, or perhaps just moisten the suction cups. Experiment and find what works best for your setup. Take time on this as getting it wrong could be expensive. I found fitting the camera to the mount prior to securing the mount to the surface works best. One drawback is no tether mount is included so if you plan to use the mount on a vehicle or boat exterior I would suggest improvising a tether cord first so that if the mount does come off then the camera can be saved.
I have been very happy with the device which I have found to be just as good as rivals costing several times the price. It is important to take time to ensure a good mount and would question the wisdom of using it with an expensive high-end DSLR but for a GoPro sized device or suitably protected smartphone it is a great buy.
