Tempo Jr. is a platformer developed by SIMS Co. and published by Sega. The game has the same story as Tempo on the 32X, and also shares some elements with this game. However, the levels are completely different. Tempo is a grasshopper has needs to defend the planet Rhythmia from the evil King Dirge while participating with his girlfriend Katy in a dancing contest.
In each level, Tempo must find a golden note to unlock the exit, then leave the level. He can throw notes a short distances to stun enemies. Stunned enemies are kicked away when touched. Enemies can also jumped on the head to get rid off. While in the air, Tempo can use his wings to float through air. This is often needed to reach new parts of the level. Coins can be collected in the levels, which is are then spent to play a bonus game (SImon) to score more points.
