Ever hear of a self-fulfilling prophecy? Cancel culture is, in my opinion, one of them - ESPECIALLY among people on the political center-right, whose views are apparently no longer “mainstream” enough for the hard-left academics and media figures who are leading our corporate culture these days. People on the political right are becoming so afraid of being canceled, that in big lefty cities like Washington, D.C. they’ll sometimes even cancel themselves and their friends ahead of time to avoid the shock. (I’m sure it’s also like this for left-wingers who work in very conservative cities, but to be honest I haven’t heard many stories like that and I’ve certainly not had enough experience myself.)
If you’re against “cancel culture” yet at the same time you’re constantly distancing yourself from people whose views aren’t mainstream enough, because you’re afraid of being canceled by association, you’re an idiot and part of the problem. Plain and simple.
P.S. - I’m SUPER DUPER self conscious about this video. As you know, I’m still learning a ton about making YouTube videos, and I’m constantly looking for new ways to make them better. The latest thing I’m trying is the teleprompter app that I used for this video. I want to hear your feedback - do you think it makes the video quality seem better or worse? For the next video, I plan to try out a new and more professional editing software - feel free to make recommendations for that as well.
Also as promised, the shoutout in the beginning of the video :) I may have missed a couple!!
