The 588th bomber regiment of the Soviet Union was almost unique in it's make up, being staffed entirely by Russian women. During the German invasion of the Soviet Union, Stalin issued an order that Female pilots would be recruited for the red air force, making up regiments 586, 587 and 588. The pilots flew the 1928 vintage Biplane the Po-2, a plane so slow that its maximum speed was lower than the German fighters stall speed. Co-ordinating night attacks, the bombers of the 588th would cut their engines and glide on the wind to drop bombs on targets, sometimes by hand. The Germans would only hear the noise of the wind on the wings of the Bi-plane, believing they were being attacked by witches on broomsticks, they christened the Unit "Night witches."

Video style was inspired by PiscatorLager but since he's stopped uploading and probably won't use Bitchute, I'm choosing to use his style.
