To improve the Brigade Combat Teams ability to deliver the right parts at the right time the Army Material Command developed the Expeditionary Common Authorized Stockage List (CASL). IBCT, SBCT, and ABCTs across the Army now carry more than 4300 parts everywhere they go. This is a discussion of deploying that CASL into the rigors of the geography and enemy at the Hohenfels Training Area in Germany. The Supply Support Activity platoon with Atlas Distribution Company, 101st Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, deployed the CASL to Combined Resolve with the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team at Hohenfels, Germany, Aug. 2019. The SSA is the Supply Support Activity; across the Army. The 1 ID SSA is owned by Army materiel command, AMC, we are the Accountable Officers of their stock. Once the brigade purchases requisitions or purchases orders that material is then owned by the brigade. The SSA is the backbone of the brigade in a sense because it is everything logistics.
