4th Grade Math 2.9, Word Problems, Multi-step Multiplication Problems

We can use the strategy Draw a Diagram to help us solve a multi-step multiplication problem. A diagram will help us organize and visualize the information that is given. We can also use counters, make a list, or use properties to help us solve word problems. We review the steps to solving word problems. We use what we know about arrays and multiplication to help us. We solve six word problem examples. We show multiplication with subtraction, multiplication with addition, using a given quantity to find two other quantities, using the strategy Make a List, and using Halving and Doubling or the Distributive Property to solve a word problem.
