NOTE of course the water will run till it erodes the plastic, but nothing lasts for even, not even a perpetual machine that because of erosion will stop working, not that it is not perpetual. The harder the materials are the longer the erosion will take till it stops.

NOTE: Imagine if we put very small dynamos when the water falls back down, just before it reaches down.
It would be small, but it would create a very small quantity of free electricity too.
