Soil pit 4 was dug in the former livestock holding pen area that is now converting to the nursery/garden on the farm. The initial growth cycle is coming to an end.
Crabgrass seed was the main planting along with some lablab, partridge pea and any other naturally occuring seed. The primary objective was to capture any residual fertility from past livestock as well as protect and cover the ground.
