On January 1, 2002 Venice Beach witnessed an amazing creation of balanced rocks. Everyone woke to find a virtual enchanted forest of abstract sculptures standing silent watch on the sandy beach.

For the next several months, that small section of the beach was a constantly changing virtual art gallery of these abstract rock sculptures, each one balanced against the elements.

Later I met and interviewed the artist, Kevin Morgan, and watched him work with the rocks. I haven't seen the sculptures in a few years now, and hope they are still being brought back to life in another whimsical collection on another beach, somewhere else along the California Coast.
