That controversial McDonald's "I'm lovin' it" sign recently erected at Doak Campbell Stadium is apparently coming down.

Warchant.com cited Florida State sources confirming Monday that the sign, on the back of the stadium's new south end zone scoreboard, will be removed sometime this month.

One sign on the scoreboard, for NolePass, a parking and toll EZ-pass decal, apparently doesn't bother Seminoles fans, but the McDonald's sign came under fire immediately after going up in June. One thread on a fan message board drew hundreds of negative comments. Twitter users also were not happy.

In the face of that criticism, FSU athletic director Stan Wilcox conceded to Warchant in late June that, "We are in the process of evaluating modifications that might be made to the recent graphics."

A source told Warchant the space would not be used for advertising in the future.
