Another long week of directing traffic-let's take the Time Machine to (spins dial randomly and throws switch)...hmm, no radioactivity this time-hey, is that the Seine? Hope my high-school French isn't too rusty...
No plot here-just the residents and tourists of Paris living their daily lives in the City of Light, two years before the idea of a "World War" would be introduced. The streets still abound with coaches and bicycles, but the new motorcar has made its presence known and now comprises nearly half of the street traffic. The camera makes note of the Seine river more than once, touches on L'Arc de Triomph, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Napoleon's Tomb, Notre Dame cathedral, the Pantheon and the Hotel de Ville among others-and does not forget to take note of the men, women and children nearby, recording their mannerisms and clothing for posterity.
This eight-and-a-half minute feature survived over a century in a state of remarkable preservation-until it made its way into the hands of media restorationist Rick88888888 who used an advanced AI to:
-correct speed and stabilize motion
-correct blemishes in film stock
-add in color and a lovely soundtrack by Trevor Kowalski
Many thanks to Rick88888888 and others for releasing and restoring these Public Domain features...Tinted, Music.
