I am mainly a short to medium distance runner and usually run between six and ten miles. However, from time to time I run longer, half marathons or more and when I do I find it particularly important to keep hydrated. To do this I run wearing a small running backpack with a water bladder and over the shoulder drinking tube. The one supplied with my rucksack is OK but feels a little lightweight and delicate. I decided to upgrade to this more robust model from PUNDA and I am very glad that I did.
The bladder arrived simply packed in an Amazon box with no product packaging or instructions, not that either is needed. The bladder follows the usual design and at 14.2'' x W 6.8'' is about the same size as my old one but with a larger than standard 4" screw on water fill cap and a thicker and more substantial feeling 40" detachable tube and valve assembly.
Using it is easy enough. The bladder feels reassuringly more robust than the old one and is usefully marked with water fill levels. The tube can be removed from the bladder even when full with no danger of leakage and after a long run, I can report that there was no sign of any water loss. Drinking from the thicker than normal tube is nice and easy and with only a very mild plastic taste and with a good steady water flow. The mouthpiece valve can be locked when not in use to prevent spillage and has a clip-on dust cover to keep it clean.
For the £12.99 price, I am very happy with this unit which feels heavy duty and sturdy enough to last for many years of happy running.
