You think I'm kidding, right? De Blasio has been a big fan of Dante’s Afro in the past, saying it was ultimately inspired in part by Jimi Hendrix and harkens back to when he even sported a Fro. True.

The NY Post reports that "The mayor even used the hairstyle to score votes during his campaign in 2013 — asking New Yorkers to tweet the hashtag #GoWithTheFro to show their support."

But the social media appeal didn’t sit too well with some residents, who quickly took to Facebook to blast him for it.

“Please stop running on your son’s hair,” one user said at the time. “[It] makes me uncomfortable.”
