President Trump Press Conference 1/14/19 "I Never Worked For Russia" & James Comey was a "dirty cop". president Trump slams fbi at impromptu press conference before departing white house.
President Donald Trump is denying he ever worked for Russia, answering a question he declined to directly address over the weekend. As President Donald Trump left the White House on Monday to attend a farmers convention in New Orleans, he held a press spray during he went off over the news that FBI officials investigated him over his connection to Russia.
A member of the White House press corps asked the President about the New York Times report that the FBI launched a counter-intelligence investigation due to concerns that Trump was working with Vladimir Putin and putting national security at risk. Trump called the question disgraceful while saying “I never worked for Russia.”
“I never worked for Russia. And you know that answer better than anybody. I never worked for Russia. Not only did I never work for Russia, I think it’s a disgrace that you even asked that question because it’s a whole big fat hoax. It’s just a hoax.”
Trump went on to slam the FBI agents who wanted to investigate him by calling them “liars” and “scoundrels” and “dirty cops.” The president especially honed in on James Comey, saying he did the country a great service by firing Comey even though that was what supposedly triggered the FBI’s investigation into his conduct.
“He was a bad cop and he was a dirty cop,” Trump said. “He lied. He really lied” Speaking from the South Lawn on Monday before departing the White House for New Orleans, Trump calls former FBI and DOJ officials "known scoundrels" and "dirty cops." He was reacting to a New York Times report that law enforcement officials began investigating, in 2017, whether Trump had been working on behalf of Russia against U.S. interests. Trump told reporters: "I never worked for Russia."
