Well, Black Friday approaches, and i'm off on my Time Machine in order to avoid it-wait, I have an 'Extended Tour' timer now? Let's go....
In early 1896, the adventurous Lumiere Brothers decided on a world-wide tour of Europe, recording all the way across England, Scotland, cities in their native France, Hungary, the United States and Italy. The resulting footage was shown to hungry film-goers in various venues...and eventually found its way from the British Film Institute and into the Britannica Panopticon film archive...
These worthies not only preserved this delicate footage, but also ran it through an AI to correct blemishes and speed...then assembled the entire thing into a sprawling, 42-minute epic tour of the late 19th Century, complete with computer generated sound effects for that perfect viewing experience! I thank them profusely for once again making this rare footage available for my (and now your) enjoyment...B&W, Soundtrack.
