Since Justin Trudeau announced that anyone returning to Canada has to quarantine at government-run hotels, Chris Sky, the now-infamous anti-lockdown advocate, has made a habit of staging airport getaways for anyone wishing to go home instead.
Chris regularly receives texts and calls from concerned travellers asking for his help, and last Thursday, he was at it again at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Chris was there to pick up a woman named “Mary” (not her real name), who was returning home from a trip to Portugal where she underwent serious surgery to have more than 20 tumours removed. To add to her misery, Mary’s journey home was a hellish experience of layovers, flight cancellations, unavailable hotel rooms, and invasive COVID tests.
After dealing with all that, the last thing she wanted was to subject herself to a three-night stay at an overpriced quarantine hotel complete with awful food, surly service and, in some cases, rooms that don’t even have functioning locks.
It’s why Mary felt that her best option was to stay at an Airbnb instead and why she reached out to Chris Sky to come bail her out.
But Chris’ (unmasked) presence at the airport drew an unwelcome response from the airport staff and police.
Mandatory government-run quarantine hotels have no place in our free and democratic society. But these days, Canada doesn’t feel at all free or democratic, does it?
Lucky for Mary, Canadian patriots like Chris are still willing to stand up for our Charter rights and call out anyone willing to trample over them. Hopefully, it inspires others to do the same.
Yours truly,
