Why be part of a community? Can't hack it alone? Need to be with a bunch of people who sing from the same hymn sheet? Not secure enough with your own research unless a bunch of others sing the same words?
The goal is to be a spiritual warrior who doesn't need a crowd to mill around with. Get swole.
Spirituality/Enlightenment is an extremely personal endeavor. The deeper you go into it, the more you realize how alone you really are. The crowd are just a bunch of posers who wear the tee shirts. All they really want are some cheat codes and magical prayers to help avoid pain & misery...and illness, injury, disease and misfortunes. But, given that this is actually a hell of sorts for every living creature, that ain't never gonna happen. There is no improvement possible. How does something that sees itself as flawed improve itself? How does a flaw stop being a flaw? How does a "flawed self" un-flaw itself? It clearly doesn't. It all ends in tears here for everyone. Some learn sooner, and some learn later.
