The child immerses itself in the world and is carried along by the experience without the ability to change it. The youth begins to understand by stepping back from life to more objectively consider it. The youth begins to live in their head. It is the task of the adult to go after personal dreams and make them become real. We can't go after our own dream when we are following the commands of external authority, no matter how noble the cause might be.
