Piano Quartet in E♭ major, Op. 47 by Robert Schumann

Schumann completed this quartet for piano, violin, viola and cello in 1842, with the premiere performance being given in 1844 in Leipzig with Clara Schumann playing the piano. Schumann had intended for the work to be a performance piece for his wife Clara, however he would dedicate the work to Russian cellist Count Mathieu Wielhorsky. The work was well received by the public and by other composers.

The quartet is comprised of four movements:
I. Sostenuto assai – Allegro ma non troppo 00:00
II. Scherzo: Molto vivace 09:26
III. Andante cantabile 12:39
IV. Finale: Vivace 19:53
