The Double N #12 has an interesting history. I am pretty certain it is a fly I created while at a tying "session" with some friends. It kicked around my fly box for a number of years until the day came I was not catching anything on this wonderful Michigan stream and I decided to give this fly a try. As is often the case, the fish started hammering this fly. Later, not recalling if I tied the pattern, it was given to me or I purchased it somewhere I contacted a number of friends, fisherman & women and even a few guides I know well and none of them could place the fly or had ever seen it before. Thus, the conclusion is I tied it and now it one of numerous patterns I have never named but keep in my box because they are productive patterns (hence the #12).
That said, I am still keeping the door open that this is someone else's pattern and I just have not found out the name. So, watch the video and let me know what you think. If you think you have seen it before, let me know. I would love to track down the origins of this pattern (but I think I tied it and some Bourbon was involved somewhere)! - Enjoy
