"Carla Schmehl, a critic of COVID-19 vaccinations, claimed the Pfizer vaccine being administered by the health district has not been approved.

“It is not correct the Pfizer vaccine that we are administering is fully FDA approved. That is Comirnaty and is not in production yet,“ Schmehl said. “It’s not available. The public at large does not know that’s the truth.”

“That is not correct,” health district director Lou Kreidler replied.

She said when the vaccine got full FDA authorization, they renamed it Comirnaty.

“They do that with all drugs when they’re approved. Comirnaty is the brand name for the Pfizer drug,” she said."
