Our subject is one of those fire and brimstone Bible thumping sermons I heard as a kid. You can't serve both God and money.

But, clearly, Jesus in Matthew 25:14-30 taught otherwise. The one that got in trouble was the one that buried the talent.

In the NASB version of this verse, it actually uses the word "TRADED" on more than one occasion.

The talent spoken about here was a Roman measure of money that was worth a lot during the time Jesus was teaching and using this parable to teach others about the kingdom of Heaven.

So ... don't be so quick to judge people that are trading for a living or doing there best to trade for a living. Even Jesus himself recognized this as a profession.
