Clarinet Sonata in E♭ major, Op. 120, No. 2 by Johannes Brahms

Brahms completed a pair of clarinet sonatas in 1894, dedicated both works to clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld. These are one of the last works Brahms composed as he would die three years later in 1897. Due to the popularity of the works Brahms adapted both works for viola.

The sonatas were first performed in 1894 at a private performance for Georg II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen.

This sonata is comprised of three movements:
I. Allegro amabile
II. Allegro appassionato
III. Andante con moto - Allegro
