Major integration challenge as Parnell St becomes Chinatown — 60% Foreign born

In their EU election coverage for Dublin, RTÉ heard that integration was a major challenge as 60% of people in the Parnell St area are foreign born. In 2016, almost 1,200 people signed an online petition calling for a ‘Chinatown’ archway to Parnell Street as so many Chinese people are living there. As Parnell St becomes Chinatown, will there be anything Irish left to integrate into?

RTÉ did a vox pop item in Dublin and played the audio of one woman who said that people who opposed replacement migration were just ignorant and that we needed educated migrants to boost our economy and we needed uneducated migrants for manual labour. Another man said he had moved back to Ireland from the Netherlands in part because of the growth of anti-Muslim sentiment there.
