Why We Prepare - National Preparedness Month
Natural disasters, man-made disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, wars, terrorist attacks, a monetary crisis, sabotage of the electric grid, internet hacking, solar flares, or an electromagnetic pulse - any of these could throw a region, or all, of the United States into a crisis, that could fracture our fragile distribution of food, goods, and services, which the vast majority of citizens rely on to live each day.
Whether a temporary localized disaster, or a national crisis, many rational, thoughtful people prepare to take care of themselves and their families, should any one of these wide varieties of calamities occur.
FEMA has set aside September as National Preparedness month.
