"No resemblance between Islam & Wahhabism"

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has hit back at Saudi Arabia's top cleric for his offensive remarks against the Iranian people. Zarif said there is no resemblance between Islam of Iranians and most Muslims with the one preached by the Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia. Zarif made the remarks after Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Abdulaziz Al Sheikh said Iranians are not Muslims. The Saudi cleric also claimed that Iranians have an old hostility toward Sunni Muslims. Tensions flared up between Tehran and Riyadh following last year’s Hajj stampede which resulted in the death of hundreds of Iranian pilgrims. Kevin Barrett Editor, Veterans today
