I take no joy in feeling the need to make a point via a self described "conservative". I have been one most of my life. But I was trapped in the left right paradigm where as a direct result it causes one to suffer from a form of cognitive dissonance. Its true. I deprogrammed my mother who had been married to my father, a Judge and remarried later on to a cop. She did not get to see the side of law enforcement until one day she ws assaulted and I defended her. She watched the local police treat me as an armed robbery suspect. Why? A good friend was shagging one of the cops ex wives. They tried charging me with assault . When they found out the man who attacked my mom was here illegally fleeing Russia from criminal charges - did they stop? nope. Not until the last appearance in court when the man of course didn't show. The officer asked the prosecutor in earshot..."can't we get him on something"?Ive seen both sides. I admire folks who want that job for noble reasons, but usually they are worn down and remolded into what the political parasites want. The more power they grab, the more they need. And don't get me started on foreign policy.

Back in the days when my step-=dad was a cop he told me that the law is not supposed to be used for anything but to keep the peace. If someone isn't violating someones rights or breaching the normal peaceful goings on he doesn't see them or whatever infraction they might be doing. I miss that mindset.
