A large number of Christians don't bother with prophecy! They say it will happen when it happens, and there's nothing that can be done to affect it. They will also quote Matt 24:36 - that nobody except The Father knows the day and hour - so if we cannot know when the end times and Christ's 2nd arrival will occur, why bother studying and researching, or looking for signs of the end?

However, is that really the case? There are masses of details surrounding the End Time, with Jesus giving the entire Olivet Prophecy about The End, the signs involved, and his Return. Jesus repeatedly commands us to watch, and be alert and waiting... and we also have a huge chunk of the Bible covering prophecies yet to come...

Jesus expects us to be alert and waiting for his return.
