Figure Note:
Stop-Motion Transformation of MMC Ocular Max PS-04 Azalea. This is the best Arcee, such an elegant design. And with an eye to posing. Those panels above her knees give way to allow her legs to fold nearly in half. Her elbows are double-jointed. She’s a tad shorter than MP-28 Hot Rod, but that works pretty good. The car is a bit too small, but only because they do such a good job of packing her up. Make sure you start the neck with a small tool - you can’t just yank up on her head: you have to get that joint going first. Same thing with extracting the wheels from the thighs - use a small tool.

Production Note:
The other day I had an epiphany when it comes to figure mounting: glue dots. They are clear, a bit gummy, and don’t leave residue (if you buy the “temporary” kind). This is my first shoot using them. When the car is upside down I have dots applied to the nose of the car and the two“wings”. Those three dots sufficed to hold the car at that angle even at the end of that sequence when her legs (60% of her weight) were cantilevered into the air. Great product and already nearly invisible so no extra editing required. Bye, sticky tac!
Viewing Note:
If you want to follow along, I recommend skipping to the speed run and using the Chrome plugin called "Frame by Frame for YouTube". It turns your , and . keyboard keys into single-frame movement keys. Every step of the transformation is documented in the frames of the video, in what I consider to be the best sequence. With minimal rubbing and minimal parts-parking.
