DC Comics December solicitations are live and it looks like they’re going to carry on falling behind Marvel through the end of 2019. DC continues offering a host of Year of the Villain one-shots but thus far only Batman/Superman has made an impact on the market. DC also continues going all-in with Black Label but I don’t see many hits in the once-promising imprints future. But the big December issues for DC Comics are 2 finales that evoke completely different feelings.
Geoff Johns Doomsday Clock debuted in November 2017 and was supposed to wrap-up in November 2018. The culmination of Johns’ return to classic DC storytelling following New 52. So far the Year of the Villain one-shots haven’t been needle movers but DC is offering 4 more in December 2019 from writers Mark Russell, Dan Watters, Paul Jenkins and the controversial Zoe Quinn. I don’t see any of these Year of the Villain one-shots making any sort impact.
The final series of note should have the biggest impact. I’m not a huge Tom Taylor fan but his work at DC is far superior to Marvel. His ..
