At Church, Jesse tells a funny, colorful story of Adam & Eve, and what really happened with the fall of man. Adam believed in his Father; he had perfect peace. God said: You're too happy, I'm gonna give you a woman. He put Adam to sleep, and from the rib he made the woman. Satan decided he was tired of being the Angel of Light. He wanted to be his own god. God threw Satan out of Heaven, into Hell.
The man and woman ate from everything but Satan's tree. Satan tried to tell Adam not to listen to his dad. So he went to Eve, and told him the fruit is good. Her husband told him not to. Don't listen to your husband. He's an abuser; he wants to control you. You need your independence. She didn't at first, but he said he'll be back. He came back with a sign that said "Women's Lib: Rights for All." Everyone should be able to eat off this tree. No man can tell you not to. So she ate off the tree and fell away from her husband. Now her husband is her enemy, because she believed the lie.
Eve told Adam he could be liberated from her father. She told him his dad is an abuser. He would cheat on his wife if he had one. She finally convinced Adam he could be like God. He ate the apple, or whatever, and the woman became his god. The roles switched between man and woman.
It's the same with your thoughts. Every time you believe a thought, you're believing a lie.
