Here is the full conversation with King Vendrick in the Memory of the King, which becomes available only after you acquire the Ashen Mist Heart, and have collected all four of the king's crowns (King's Crown, the Crown of the Sunken King, the Crown of the Old Iron King and the Crown of the Ivory King). You can access this area from the Undead Crypt, after defeating Velstadt, the Royal Aegis. If you do collect all four crowns to unlock the complete discussion, the King will grant you Vendrick's Blessing. This will unlock a new effect on the four crowns which makes you immune to the curse effect and also prevents you from turning hollow upon death when equipped. This is extremely useful for the end game. As always, this footage was recorded from my PS4. Hope you enjoy!
