Gonzalo Lira lays out corruption in Ukraine and certain plausible reasons why Putin felt compelled to take action.

There are two big secrets in particular that Gonzalo alludes to. The first relates to bio-weapons research being conducted in the Ukraine as conveyed by documentary evidence presented by the Russian ministry of defence. Victoria Nuland (US Under Secretary of State) confirmed this herself and admitted that these bio-labs exist, but of course wants to blame the Russians for staging a false flag.

The second relates to the build up of some 60,000 Ukrainian troops that were sent to the area bordering the eastern Donbas region and that the only plausible reason for this was that they were getting ready to invade the eastern enclave of Donetsk and Lughansk. The troops were apparently sent there prior to the Russian operation. Thus it makes sense that the only reason they would be sent there is that the Ukrainians were getting ready to invade. The Russians knew this and so were forced to take action to prevent this and to protect the eastern Donbas region.
