Here it is, finally the start of our new project. In this episode we introduce you to scientist Diana Walstad's definitive method for low maintenance planted aquariums and we do it on a small scale so anyone can try it without breaking the bank.
We also touch on starter plants and what to use in the bottom of the vessel you choose. Please, please, please...if you want a fish, any fish, do not try this in a vessel less than 5 gallons. Smaller tanks as a rule need frequent water changes with or without filtration. That said, if you just want plants, maybe a few snails for algae, use anything you like as long as it holds two gallons. The possibilities are endless for this type of aquarium; a fish bowl is fine, a drink dispenser like ours, an aquarium of course or a large vase is also fine - just don't use something with a pattern in the glass.
