Generator Setup-Another Small Step Toward Self-Sufficiency (Caution, Loud Vid)
After a miserable week without electricity after hurricane Irma last summer and losing a bunch of food in the fridge. I decided to not let that happen again. So, I purchased a 7500 watt generator from Central Georgia Generator, (https://centralgagenerator.com/), and after numerous trials and errors, I got it working with a 10 HP Yanmar, single cylinder engine that I had been storing for years. It's pretty loud, but I found an old freezer from a hospital at a scrap yard and used it for an enclosure. With the doors closed, it's not too bad but the heat buildup is still a problem that I'm working on.
