21. VINTAGE Resale SHOPPING in TENNESSEE | BABY Took Us to an ODD PLACE!
Flea markets, consignment stores, vendor malls and a crazy shop full of oddities fill Clarksville…I’m shopping like crazy for my winter shows in Florida and you get to freestyle eight different shops with me! Tenacity is the name of the game, after turning up nothing at the consignment and flea markets, we stumble onto a fun haul and a good lead. In the end we have a look at a lot of fun, bizarre and unique vintage items, and go home happy :)
You’ll also get to see how the Antique Nomad wanders (the wrong way!) and why he should take remedial Spanish.
Had a lot of fun at an old freight house with 1980s vintage toys! Mom’s Christmas dishes you thought were new turn out to be vintage. Booths with a plethora of fakes and new stuff offer lessons to the wise collector and reseller.
Then quite suddenly, am encounter with a resuscitation practice baby leads us on a trip into an Oddly Amazing world of vintage medical items, specimens, Muertos figures, even a fossilized vertabrae! This hip and groovy shop ends up being the find of the day for its funky take on kitsch and cool vintage.
A list of other highlights follows below…
I hope my driving tour to eight different shops helps you learn more about antique and vintage items and share my encounters with them in the real world, sharing our passion and this community and helping each other with our antique education.
Here’s some of what I find:
1980s brass furniture, 1970s rattan furniture, Hall China, 1950s horse lamps, clocks, antique church pews, Roseville Pottery, Metlox Poppytrail dinnerware, cast iron cookware, Soda fountain collectibles, vintage toys, traffic lights, 1970s pottery, vintage industrial, velvet paintings, vintage games, vintage pins, vintage stereo equipment, vaseline glass, uranium glass, vintage bookends, painted furniture, birds eye maple, Playboy puzzle, salt and pepper shakers
