Why we should be skeptical of Tulsa - [Media Manipulation]

The so called Tulsa Race Massacre (only recently changed from the Tulsa Race Riot) was recently in vogue for its 100th anniversary. Radio stations, social media and television were abuzz with this astroturf style campaign to "promote awareness" of this event which seemingly nobody had ever heard of. This ignorance was of course explained by the fact that such a horrible event had been covered up by the systematically evil United States, and it was about time we were made to feel the guilt which was put off for a century.

The campaign to push this narrative however raised several red flags which are typical of false narratives, and so I want to use this event to discuss the following questions:

When is it proper to be skeptical of a narrative?
What are the aspects of an astroturf media campaign?
Was the Tulsa Race Riot a "Massacre" as it has been renamed?
