How to get to Ayutthaya?: I came to Ayutthaya by regular Regional Train. First, you have to go to "Hua-Lampong" (there is a MRT station with that same name, it will drop you off merely footsteps away from the train station).
Second is obviously to buy your ticket at the counter(s) in the main lobby: I did in fact, travel in third class (ticket is just 20B) there is no guarantee of you getting a seat, fortunately for me I DID. Also there is no A/C, but there are plenty of windows and everybody opens them up, so at the end of the day it is totally acceptable. Also there are many fans throughout the train ceiling. The train takes about 1 Hour and half approximately. You will know when you are there because in the ticket it tells you the approximate arrival time. One more thing! when you arrive at the Train station in Ayutthaya, immediately go towards the river (you can ask train security and they will point you in the general direction, you can't miss it honestly) and catch the ferry for just 5 Baht, *then* from there you can take a taxi or tuk-tuk to the Emblematic areas, it shouldn't cost you more than 30/40 Baht.
