Gold is a tradition, but does it have any ability to keep up with inflation, when the price is stuck to the USD which is being printed like mad? Is it possible that gold has a negative value, in that you're losing purchasing power, every day? All you have to do is price commodities in gold over the past decade and see it for yourself. Hoarding gold is a loser! Since April of 2012, when gold was $1,600 per troy ounce and bitcoin was $5.95 gold has lost 3/4 of its purchasing power. If you were wise enough to swap an ounce of gold, at $1,600 for BTCs at $5.95 you'd have $11.66 million instead of that one ounce of gold. Can you see the loss of purchasing power? Some say, 'That's the past and bitcoin won't do that in the future!' No, bitcoin is much more scarce today and demand for it is far, far greater and growing. The supply of bitcoin is actually shrinking, in that more are lost each day than are mined each day and in 2024, the number mined, 900 per day will fall to 450 per day and the price should skyrocket. There is no better investment in the world and it has been that way for over a decade now. Stay with gold and you have your own pet rock!
