The Confusion of our Times

Confusion is common and expected these days. We’re being situationally forced to recognize that sources of information are always unreliable, and that certainty is just a feeling. How do we chart a course through the chaos?

There is a difference between knowing something and feeling confident that thing is true. It's common to build a foundation of trusted ideas, but this practice builds a dangerous house of cards.

And right now the world is built up on an epic foundation that's starting to rumble! To surf this knowledge tsunami like a boss, just keep looking for better explanations.

Good explanations:
1. Actually explain what we see.
2. Are well constrained by evidence and other good explanations.
3. Explain evidence that we'll gather in the future.
4. Impart a good understanding of the situation.
5. Are concise and use clear, careful language.
6. Can boldly explain things we don't or can't see.
7. Don't feature the logical contradictions of prior explanations.
8. Survive genuine scrutiny indefinitely.
