After some trial and error I found that the fast ship best suited my playstyle and I managed to complete the arcade mode with it. I'd generally advise people to keep the multishot add-on and save as many bombs as possible for the boss battles of stage 4 and beyond where it'll become next to impossible to dodge the attacks of 2 bosses at once. The extra girl you unlock isn't anything special and her art seems off, but for completion sake I managed to 100% the gallery.
