GoDaddy is an American based company that provides web hosting, domain registrations, and other web services. The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ stock market. GoDaddy’s headquarters are based in Arizona (USA). The company was created by serial entrepreneur Bob Parsons in 1997 in Baltimore, Maryland. Bob Parsons had previously sold his software company, Parsons Technology to Intuit for $65 million dollars in 1994. Bob had originally named the company "Jomax Technologies" and in 1999 the company switched their name to Go Daddy. GoDaddy started seeing a lot of growth in 2001 after Network solutions was no longer the only website to register domains. In April 2005, GoDaddy took the lead and became the biggest ICANN domain registrar on the internet. The company then later took out the space and relabeled “Go Daddy” to “GoDaddy” in 2006. In 2018 GoDaddy became the biggest hosting company by market share having over 60,000,000 registered domains.
