Mozart most likely completed this concerto for two pianos and orchestra in 1779 and was composed for the 23-year-old Mozart to play with his sister Nannerl. In later years Mozart would again perform this work with his pupil Josepha Barbara Auernhammer, who would in turn become a composer herself.

This concerto is comprised of three movements:
I. Allegro
II. Andante
III. Rondo: Allegro
