My Tidbit: I'm not a religious person but am spiritual. I did come across some info once that I never forgot - It was about religion.
All religions are basically made up of 5 things: 1. A Doctrine, 2. Ethics, 3. "Rituals", 4. Myths and 5. Symbols. Religion does have social influence and with the many denominations, some can be construed as cultish. I do know that a conservative view with the conscience as a guide stands for morality and ethics.
