Was Sen. McCain the Real 2016 Russian Colluder?, 3092
Good afternoon, I’m still reporting on the coup.
According to a story released at 8:45pm last night, by Chuck Ross, an investigative reporter for the Daily Caller, a new FBI document has just come to light which reveals that one of the reasons that Senator John McCain pushed the Trump/Russia hoax dossier into the hands of the FBI to serve as justification for beginning the Mueller probe, was that McCain’s failed 2008 presidential campaign took secret campaign contributions from a Russian oligarch closely tied to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The astounding new allegation came from the FBI finally releasing a key portion of the Mueller probe that contained the testimony of Rick Gates who once worked for Paul Manafort.
In 2016, Gates served as deputy campaign chairman for candidate Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. In August 2018, he was interviewed by the Mueller team under oath. Gates said that his former boss, Paul Manafort, might have served as the cut-out between the Russian money and a pro-McCain dark money group called Americans for Patriotism.
So, despite the oft-repeated claims by leftist and never-Trumpers – like Senator McCain - that Russia was conniving to help Trump, just the reverse was apparently the case.
The money came from Russian aluminum magnate, Oleg Deripaska, who deposited it in a Cypriot account of LOAV LTD controlled by Paul Manafort. Manafort then sent it on to the 501c(4), Americans for Patriotism.
In between the McCain presidential run and Mr. Gates’ appearance before the Special Counsel, Deripaska, a close ally of Putin, sued Manafort in 2014 for misappropriation of funds from a joint partnership they formed to conduct business in Ukraine.
But McCain has been closely linked to Deripaska in the past.
According to the Daily Caller, Deripaska threw a 70th birthday party for McCain on his yacht in 2007, as McCain was prepping for his 2008 presidential run. McCain was accompanied to the party by Paul Manafort and McCain’s campaign manager, Rick Davis.
Apparently aware of this connection, in Sept. 2017, Sen. Chuck Grassley sent the FBI a letter asking whether they had ever provided the McCain campaign a defensive briefing regarding the activities of Deripaska and other Russians.
Team McCain snapped back with a hot retort from his spokeswoman:
“Facts are stubborn things, and the fact is no member of Congress has done more to push back on Russian aggression, human rights abuses, and corruption than Sen. John McCain.
“Any suggestion to the contrary is clearly intended to distract from the serious ongoing investigations into Russia’s interference in our election system.”
A recent analysis of accounts found that the Chinese Communist party weaponized nearly 200,000 zombie Twitter accounts to disseminate Chinese propaganda during the 2016 election, while Russia had under 1,200 such accounts – 150 times fewer accounts.
I’m still reporting from just outside the citadel of American freedom. Good day.
