Cycling along the river, Oude Rijn ('Old Rhine'). 2/6

We start this video in Woerden. The Romans called it 'Laurium' as you can see in the opening shot. The river Oude Rijn was the most northern boundary of the Roman empire. Along this border (Limes) they built lots of fortresses. Nowadays Roman finds regularly show up when dredging the river or building houses. At 22.33 I stop at one of my favourite farms.
