Yesterday on Fox & Friends, Dr. Oz showed off a newly-approved simple form of CPR – one that does not employ mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The problem with CPR in the past has been that many times people don’t want to put their mouth on another person’s mouth. Plus, untrained people don’t do it correctly. So researchers are now recommending this simple form of CPR, which only involves chest compression.
Dr. Oz points out that when someone collapses from a heart attack, only 1/3 of the time does anyone around them do anything. However, if you just do chest compression until an EMT arrives to take over, you can save a life.
