Smoked the clutch in the #KTM 450EXC-F. These bikes are pretty much bullet proof and since the bike only has 35hrs on it, the previous owner probably did something stupid to it like adjust the spring softer. We’ll have to go inside and see… and probably just put a new Rekluse Torqdrive in it.

Adventuring on my KTM 450 EXC-F Six Days. Most of the riding took place above 8,000ft elevation. The volcanic surface is deceptively had to ride. It’s ever moving under the motorcycle. Much harder to ride than mud, sand or any other surfaces common to dirtbike riding.

Do not remove the reeds from your KTM EXC-F bike, install the European airboot instead. The USA KTM EXC models come with intake boot reeds to pass emissions. These reeds reduce overall horsepower and can fail leading to engine damage. The KTM SX & XC race models do not use this reed system. The EXC models use the PDS suspension system that sits slightly offset, so the airboot for the SX/XC race bikes is different. The European airboot is design specifically for the EXC models but does not contain the reeds.

Should fit 450 EXC-F models 2017-2022 - OEM KTM Part # 7940612600

May also fit most 250, 350, 500 EXC-F models 2017-2022… BUT CHECK listings for your model!

The biggest triple in this video is 60 feet, requires seat compression to clear, and is hit at around 29mph on a wide open ewire throttle from the corner. This is the approximate speed a 90ft Supercross triple requires at a Saturday Monster Energy Supercross race.

#KTM690Enduro rolling MX style. While the 690 is Definitely not ideal for motocross, it’s a motorcycle that’s quite capable of nearly anything. I think I have enough 690 Enduro videos out there to validate this. While I’d probably be better off on a 500EXC for most of my adventures… the KTM 690 Enduro is also my daily driver, truck, and grocery getter. I highly value it’s fantastic streetability and long service intervals.
