The blog post explained, “There are two posters, original renders of Lara signed as Laura Cruz in Tomb Raider III’s The Lost Artifact expansion level, Sleeping with the Fishes. Initially, the character of Lara was named Laura Cruz, but the developers later decided to make her British and changed the name to Lara Croft.”

Aspyr, the game's developers, have officially acknowledged the mistake and confirmed that the posters will be restored in the next update. They stated, “In Patch 2, we made several texture and graphical updates to the HD version. As part of these updates, the posters in Sleeping With The Fishes (The Lost Artifact) were inadvertently removed in the HD version of the game. This has been resolved and these textures will be restored in Patch 3.”

Mark Kern raised questions about the influence of GaymerX's consultation on Niantic, suggesting a connection between their involvement and the subsequent changes in Pokémon GO. He criticized these consultancy firms, stating, "These firms need to go!"

Kern previously reported that Niantic's avatar update for Pokémon GO removed gender options entirely, providing only androgynous customization choices. This change sparked discontent among players, with some feeling that the new options did not adequately represent their desired gender expression.
