"YOUR MOTHER ATE MY DOG!!"
Imagine 'Evil Dead 2' on steroids x100
Super Gory Horror Comedy Zombie Epic by director of 'Lord of the Rings', Peter Jackson with his 3rd feature film.
I been a big fan of Peter Jackson since 1989 after I read an article/review (complete with full color gore pics) in the horror movie magazine 'GoreZone' issue #5 Jan. 1989 (I was in the 9th grade) - http://vhsarchive.blogspot.com/2009/06/gorezone-5-bad-taste.html - on his first film 'Bad Taste' (1987), released in the US in June 1989, and VHS 1989/1990, I didn't come across a VHS rental store that carried it until 1991 or 92 (Who also happen to have the 'Meet the Feebles' VHS, I rented both the same night, along with 'Blood Diner' & 'Rawhead Rex', which I had also been looking for): Long before Jackson did his epic 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, which I was already a fan of the animated trilogy. Though I shamefully confess I still haven't seen his 'Frightners' (1997), though I nearly saw it at the theater when it came out, just because I was already a fan of Jackson's splatter movies.
PLOT:
A young man's mother is bitten by a Sumatran rat-monkey. She gets sick and dies, at which time she comes back to life, killing and eating dogs, nurses, friends, and neighbors.
"I KICK ASS FOR THE LORD!"

Because so many re-edits of this movie were release, several different dates are attributed to it, it was originally filmed in the early 60s as 'Echo of Terror', had some stuff added and removed and repackaged as 'Psycho A Go-Go' in 1965, re-edited again in 1967 with new scenes shot with John Carridine and released as 'Fiend with the Electronic Brain', re-edited for TV in 1972 and re-titled 'Man with the Synthetic Brain', re-edited once again with some zombie junk and finally released as 'Blood of Ghastly Horror'.
A big fucking mess.
Plot:
A mad scientist implants an electronic device into the brain of an injured soldier, which turns him into a psychotic killer.

aka 'Slipping Into Darkness' & 'Blood Shed'
Cool 70s Proto-Slasher Movie You Probably Never Heard Of.
Ripped from my Trans-World Entertainment VHS
Looks a little better than my Regal "Blood Shed" VHS which has some weird film-glow to it, and after every scene change, the previous one lingers and slowly fades away, also about 4 minutes was missing from the Regal copy, either due to a film splice, or the rental tape had been damage and the store just snipped & taped it back together.
PLOT:
A young writer/college student suffers from diabetic seizures, her boyfriend recommends she move into a boarding house in case of emergency, if he's not there when she has another episode, she'll be around other people.

She meets a real cast of characters when looking around for a place, including the snooty lady who puts plastic on everything, the shirtless bearded slob who offers sex in exchange for rent, and the topper, the crazy gross lady who says "okay" after every sentence, picks her toenails with a toothpick, then puts it back in the dispenser (gag), she says one line that steals the fuckin show "See those books? I wrote them all, okay? Punching Genitalia and Throbbing Clit were best sellers....in certain circles...okay?"

She finally finds a place run by a nice little old lady who likes to talk alot, one of the tenants, Grahame has peeping problem, not to mention frequents hookers, has deep embedded psychosis from his childhood and his time in the army, did I mention he has a short temper?
He takes a liking to the new tenant, to the point of obsession, then one day his luck changes, the girl has one of her seizures while taking a bath and drowns, and Grahame finds himself a with a new fleshy love-doll....I mean pose-able girlfriend....I mean bride to be....you get the picture.
Soon after, nosy tenants start poking around and Grahame has to snuff them out, to keep his fantasy & decomposing lover a secret...(smell? what smell?)

Not a bad 70s indy horror/thriller about necrophilia, voyeurism, attempted rape and other salty subjects.
Nudity, Blood, Peeping Tom Weirdo, Strangulation, Multiple Stab-Wounds and a Stinky Girlfriend make for an entertaining hour and a half.
My only complaint was the girl wasn't more rotten when she gets discovered by the land lady.

original title: Fatevi vivi: la polizia non interverra
Recorded this off Netflix way back in 2011 when the didn't suck, the streaming service was kinda new and they had a ton of great rare films. Like how Tubi is now.
The video stream had some minor interlacing anomalies which are noticeable on occasion, but that was on their end, the one currently streaming on Amazon Prime looks slightly better, but it's a pan'n'scan, while this one is widescreen.
Plot:
The kidnapping of a 6-year-old leads to a race against time between a Mafia don and a police commissioner (Silva). The mafioso then realizes the child must be saved in order to spare his own life.

(*note: I have to fix the audio on the 'Braindead/Dead-Alive' upload, so I took it down for now.)
Lifeforce (1985) aka 'Space Vampires'
From the director of 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' & 'Poltergeist', Tobe Hooper.
Plot:
A race of space vampires arrives in London and infects the populace, beginning an apocalyptic descent into chaos.

"Trever....I want that fudge-packer ELIMINATED!"
2nd feature film by the New Zealand director of 'Lord of the Rings' & 'The Hobbit' films, Peter Jackson.
A sleazy nightmarish version of 'The Muppet Show' on acid
intended to offend EVERYONE. You'll probably regret watching this and a strong desire to shower afterward.
Prostitution, Drug Addiction, Organized Crime, STD, Nam Vets, Violence & Show Biz.
Plot (???)
Multiple animals experience the sleazier side of show business while working on a variety show.

Very excellent Spanish-made murder mystery horror-thriller
with a climax you won't soon forget.
Plot:
A strict headmistress runs a secluded reform school for wayward girls in 19th century France, whose students begin disappearing under mysterious circumstances.

also known as 'Blind Man's Bluff'
Spanish-made horror thriller, A kind of serious version of the beatnik horror comedy 'A Bucket Of Blood' (1959) with Dick Miller.
Plot:
A blind sculptor works on his magnum opus unaware that the skeletons he has been using for armatures are the remains of murder victims of his deranged wife and that he might be her next victim.

This is a slightly extended version that includes 2 VERY brief bloody monster claws grabbing victims under the sand, that only appeared in the German VHS version. (possibly clip-inserts from another movie??)
A kind of reverse spin on the popular JAWS movies of the era.
Something very big beneath Santa Monica & Venice Beach is gobbling up beach goers & sunbathers.
Starring: Burt Young (Rocky) & John Saxon (Nightmare On Elm Street)
I remember the TV trailer scared the hell out of me as a kid.
Plot:
Something or someone is attacking people one by one on the beach. Some of them are mutilated, but most of them are sucked into the sand, disappearing without a trace. What is the creature responsible? Where does it live, and where did it come from? And is there any chance of it reproducing? Meanwhile, David Huffman and Mariana Hill are once-almost-married old friends, reunited over the death of her mother on the beach, and searching for clues in the abandoned buildings where they used to play when they were young.

Extended 100-minute Director's Cut.
One of my favorite & very under-rated 80s T&A sex-comedies.
(Note: There was no Surf pt.1 or any trilogy - it's just a silly title gag)
I remember seeing this on Cable TV as a kid in the mid-80s and loved it, took me years to find it later on VHS and I don't think it ever got a DVD release.
But got a special extended 'director's cut' BluRay release a few years back.
Don't miss the Dick Dale live performance at the 55 minute mark.
(He's not even listed in the credits on IMDB)
Plot:
As revenge for getting bullied in high school, a disgruntled evil-scientist nerd Eddie Deezen creates a chemically altered soda-pop in his under-sea laboratory called 'Buzz Cola' that turns 'cool' surfers into punk rock zombies.
A lot of familiar character actors in this one.
And a great soundtrack featuring:
The Beach Boys, The Chantays, Circle Jerks, Dick Dale, Thomas Dolby, Oingo Boingo, Stray Cats, The Ventures, Wall of Voodoo & others.
*Because the movie tanked at the box office, plans for the official soundtrack were scrapped and was never released.

Has to be seen to be believe!!
This is the most amazing absurdity I've ever had the pleasure of watching, words can't describe the mind boggling cluster-f*ck of a film this is.
Imaging a anti-drug classroom film, mixed with a backyard home-movie of a cartoonish reenactment of a Miami Vice & Rambo, almost everyone has a mustache, and a stick gets used as a weapon at least twice.
Complete with "exploding car rolling down the side of a mountain"
PLOT(?):
A drug runner decides to turn the tables on his longtime employer -- a powerful drug lord and gangster -- by paying him back in piles of revenge.

Here's a more detailed review from a now defunct website:
"Starting like a classroom scare film about the evils of drugs, we get some hilarious narration from a very serious announcer (There's a drug dealer on that train!). It seems like a documentary, but then we are thrown into the tale of California family Steve Brown, his wife Mina and their son Jeremy. All Steve wants to do is run his Iranian restaurant "1001 Bites" (groan) with his wife and her Iranian family. But there's only one problem: the drug kingpin and anti-Iranian bigot MacIntosh. Since times are tough, Steve's brother George agrees to become a driver/drug runner for the nefarious MacIntosh. But George gets killed in action. There's the evils of drugs again. After some more characters bite the dust, it's "Action Restauranteur!" as the mustachioed Steve snaps into action and takes on MacIntosh, the corrupt and ineffectual sheriffs, all their goons, and, of course, the evils of drugs.

Revolt is a hidden gem if there ever was one. This movie is genius, and laugh-out-loud funny. Starting with some crazy credits (Screenplay by Shield, Still Photography by D. Victory, etc.), through to the industrial film-style first section, through to the unbelievably wooden non-acting, funny dubbing, wacky feigned punches and fights, and let's not forget about the out-of-left-field subplot about the Iranian hostage crisis of the late 70's/early 80's. "There's something about Iran on TV!" young Jeremy yells out, and pretty soon Jeremy is the target of schoolyard bullies who call him an "Iranian pig". This is, of course, just a by-product of drug smuggling as you will see when you watch the movie."

THIS IS MASS MADNESS YOU MANIACS!!
Enjoy....if you can.

Darren McGavin & Doug McClure in a kooky "futuristic" Mad Max meets Smokey & The Bandit rip-off.
Plot:
The US government of the near future (2015 AD) outlaws gasoline in an effort to curb the overuse of limited natural resources - except, of course, for official purposes. There are many renegades who oppose the authorities, and will stop at nothing to allow themselves the freedom of burning around the countryside. It's up to the enviro-enforcers (who dress up like the Ghostbusters) to crack down on these evil hot-rodders.
Enjoy if you can.

Based on Swedish Children's Book Series by Astrid Lindgren.
This was originally a Swedish TV series "Pippi Långstrump" (1969)
and edited into 4 films & dubbed into English:
Pippi Longstocking (1969), Pippi Goes on Board (1969),
Pippi in the South Seas (1970) & Pippi On The Run (1970)
There was also a 'Pippi Longstocking' Swedish film from 1949
A 1988 remake "The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking"
and a 1997 Animated movie/musical 'Pippi Longstocking'.
I seen these original films on TV and at daycare when I was a little kid in the late 70s/early 80s, haven't seen them since, but have fond memories of them, and impress my young mind enough to remember them to this day.
IMDB Plotline:
Pippi Longstocking, a super-strong redheaded little girl, moves into her father's house Villa Villekulla, and has adventures with her next-door neighbors Tommy and Annika in this compilation film of the classic European TV series.
Wiki Plotline:
A mysterious young girl, Pippi Longstocking, moves into the abandoned Villa Villekulla. The redheaded Pippi, living alone but for a monkey called Mr. Nilsson and her horse Little Old Man, befriends two neighboring children, Tommy and Annika. Soon inseparable companions, the three youngsters embark upon a series of colorful escapades, which turn the small Swedish town upside down. Local busybody Miss Prysselius schemes to have Pippi put into a children's home, and sets the town's bumbling cops Kling and Klang on her with riotous results.

Unearthly terror stalks the creatures of The Dark Planet.
An anthology, including tentacled horror from the Tower of Blood, a primitive challenges a beast to avenge a murdered mate and a space jockey confronts a master computer.
A strange and confusing mish-mash horror/sci-fi anthology film effort by famed fantasy artist illustrator/painter Richard Corben.
co-written & directed by Richard Corben & Christopher Wheate

Imagine 'Equinox' (1970) in outer space while tweaking on meth.
No bones about it, this movie is (the) SHIT, in both sense of the word.
Supposedly based on the works of Jules Verne (turning in his grave).

Feels like a student film made with 200% enthusiasm, 100% special fx and 3% post-production effort, not a boring moment to be found, stop-motion animation, puppets, spaceships on strings, inexpensive but effective visual effects, matte paintings, miniatures, dialog when no ones mouth is moving, no dialog when they are, sudden switch to sound film where the actors original and over-dub dialog can be heard simultaneously, occasionally clearly hear the director giving the actors commands (now stand up), but it's many flaws only add to it's charm.
However, this did not stop it from finding it's way into the home-video market in both America and Europe.
This is a fun fun FUN movie, recommended for ALL!

Final line in the film: ".....Shut...Up"

Plot:
A ragamuffin crew of misfit space explorers crash land on an uncharted planet, and try to survive their new environment until they can build a device to send a distress signal, fighting off alien dinosaurs, battling enemy invaders, and make friends with the local cave-girl with magical healing powers.

A first time effort by multitasking movie maker Special effects, Writer, Director, Editor, Visual effects, Cinematographer, Producer Brett Piper whose films haven't much improved in 30 years, working on such jalopies like:
Bite Me!, Arachnia, Drainiac!, A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell, Mutant War, Bikini Girls on Dinosaur Planet, Shock-O-Rama and (sigh)....many many many many others.

30yo teenagers summon stop-motion demons with a 'book of the dead'.
Sam Raimi was reluctant for years to admit he plagiarized this film for his 'Evil Dead' movies, but it's blatantly obvious upon viewing.
Plot:
Four teenagers go on a woods hike and encounter a creepy forest ranger and a crazy old man. The old man is a scientist who had found a mysterious book bound in human skin, the Necronomicon, and when he had read its cryptic symbols, it conjured monsters into existence. The teenagers keep the book, and are then pursued by monsters and demons.

Plot:
Former Confederate officer Gary Hamilton (Kinski) seeks revenge on the family responsible for his wrongful prison sentence: ten years of hard-labor.

Starring the immortal Klaus Kinski, one of my all time favorite actors & real-life lunatic.
Written/Directed by Antonio Margheriti (aka Anthony Dawson), Who also Directed....
Assignment: Outer Space (1960), Battle of the Worlds (1961), The Fall of Rome (1963), Horror Castle (1963), Castle of Blood (1964), Hercules, Prisoner of Evil (1964), Giants of Rome (1964), The Long Hair of Death (1964), Lightning Bolt (1966), The Wild, Wild Planet (1966), The War of the Planets (1966), War Between the Planets (1966), Snow Devils (1967), The Young, The Evil & The Savage (1968), Web of the Spider (1971), Seven Deaths in the Cat's Eyes (1973), Killer Fish (1979), Cannibal Apocalypse (1980), Yor: The Hunter from the Future (1983) ....and many others.

Starring: Steve Reeves & Gordon Scott, two of the biggest 'Swords & Sandals' beefcake stars as the twin brothers Romulus & Remus, the legendary founders of the legendary city of ROME.
You'll really enjoy this if you love Italian 'Peplum' (ie. Swords & Sandals) film genre or Ancient History/Legends/Mythology.
Original title: Romolo e Remo (or Romulus and Remus)
Plot:
Infant twin-brothers are abandoned by their mother and sent adrift down a river in a wicker basket. A she-wolf rescues and nurses them until they are recovered by a shepherd, who raises the two boys as his own. Twenty years later in 733 BC, Romulus and Remus now lead a band of thieves against the two tyrannical kings of the Sabines. When they meet their mother just before her death, she tells them that they are destined to be the founders of a great city called Rome.

PLOT:

Original title: La Polizia Incrimina La Legge Assolve (or The Police Indicts, The Law Acquits)
Pretty good 70s gritty-police action drama, complete with short-tempered cop & kick-ass car chases - as part of the popular Italian 'Euro-Crime' genre, like Spaghetti Westerns, Peplum/Swords & Sandals, Giallo, Euro-Spy...(whatever happened to Italian Cinema? They had some of the best cinematography & original soundtracks)
Starring: Franco Nero, Fernando Rey & James Whitmore
Plot:
An Italian police inspector matches wits with a powerful European drug ring. As he comes closer to the top of the underworld organization, his odds of survival decrease.
